Visionary Communications of Wyoming

Visionary Communications is a reseller of DSL and other Internet services. In 2007 I engaged with this company to provide DSL Internet service to a home in a remote rural location. At the same time I pitched Visionary to a business client who also signed-on to their over-priced contracted DSL service. Because of the lackluster follow-through on installation and setup both of these accounts services were discontinued with Visionary. Brian Worthen is the CEO/owner of Visionary Communications and became well aware of the numerous issues, especially with the larger business-based installation. When Brian was notified that these contracts were going to be terminated before services started he immediately turned to the contract law and charged-out nearly $9,000 in early term fees. Initially Visionary contracted AIM Corp *Accounts Rcv. Management* to handle collecitons for these accounts. They sent the business customer and myself numerous notices. Eventually the notices to the business customer dropped-off and a $3,700 collection account appeared on my credit file. When I called to pay the amount (it was written into the contract and fighting it would've been futile) I was informed that not only did my account get placed into collections but also they had re-assigned the business customer's account to me since I was the person who had referred the business to them. After paying off the collection account to the tune of $4,000 - they updated my credit file with a new collection account with an $1,100 paid balance, and the original $3,600 collection remains open and unpaid. Not only was Visionary and their CEO extraordinarily unreasonable and rude he showed that the only thing that really mattered to Visionary Communications was bringing in as much cash as possible regardless of the lackluster service or technical know-how. For consumer-based DSL I'm sure they will provide you with $30/month service perfectly fine without issue. You may want to question the ethics involved here considering they had a willingly paying consumer, who even tried to clear up a collections balance and in the end they showed nothing but a spirit to "stick it to" someone if "the contract says so." I've done some rough math on the above transactions - Visionary made out with approximately $7k in profit off of this deal spanning a handful of months. In 17 years of working with telecom outfits on a business-to-business level, this was by-far one of the most unprofessional and unethical organizations I have ever dealt with.
